People can be defensive to start with but this diminishes with time and skilled training.
We can use complex and lengthy exercises/activities to bring out more behaviour and therefore more learning.
Beyond 3 days the 'excuses' which people use to block their own learning become more obvious and can then be effectively challenged.
In 5 days we generate a 'safe' group environment so we can allow plenty of time for dealing with more personal issues.
There is more time to practice the new skills, attitudes and behaviours that have been 'learned'. People move from 'learning in the head' to doing things differently.
